  • The 1970s carried a different kind of wear.

Work was still physical, but things were loosening up. Denim faded hard. Leather wasn’t polished—it was broken in, softened, shaped by use. Belts weren’t built to stand rigid. They moved, creased, and aged with the man wearing them.

It was also a shift in how things were made. More production moved overseas. Materials changed. Cost started to matter more than origin.

But the older patterns held on.

The fold-over belt—simple, familiar, and easy to live with—stayed in rotation because it worked. No hardware to overthink. No excess build. Just a strap of leather that did its job and wore in fast.

The 1970 Retro comes from that place.

Not a return to heavier, overbuilt goods.
A nod to when leather felt lived-in from the start.

  • This isn’t built like the rest of our line—and that’s the point.

Most of what we make starts with heavy, American-sourced leather and a tighter standard. This one steps outside that. It uses full-grain water buffalo—our only imported leather—chosen because it wears in fast and carries a natural, broken-in feel from the start.

At 8–9 oz, it’s lighter and more flexible. No long break-in. No stiffness to fight. It moves the way older belts did—easy, worn, familiar.

The construction follows that same thinking. Traditional fold-over design. Fewer components. Nothing to adjust or overbuild. Just a clean, proven layout that’s been around for decades.

And it sits at a different price point because of it.

Most belts try to be everything—overbuilt, overdesigned, overpromised.
    This one doesn’t.

It’s a simpler belt, made on purpose.
If you understand that, it makes sense.
